The Community Center project was conceived as a multifunctional urban facility, capable of integrating sports, leisure, services, and community interaction into a single architectural complex integrated into the city. Strategically positioned on the site, the architectural complex is organized around clear circulation axes, prioritizing the visual and physical permeability of the land, the clear and accessible organization of volumes, and the encouragement of continuous use of the spaces throughout the day.

The materials used prioritize permeable paving, perforated and metallic elements, ensuring resistance to intensive use and ease of maintenance. Landscaping is incorporated as a structuring element of the project, offering shade, thermal comfort, and environmental enhancement to the pathways and gathering areas. Therefore, in addition to robustness and durability, the materials provide identity to the complex, while ensuring transparency and integration between internal and external environments.

The complex includes a building dedicated to a fruit and vegetable market, encouraging the sale of fresh food and community gatherings. Associated with this core area are shops promoting local commerce and activities, as well as a private gym, contributing to the continuous activation of the space throughout the day. The organization of the sports spaces values the diversity of uses and age groups.

The beach tennis courts, the five-a-side football pitch, the skate park, and the multi-sports court are integrated into the open areas, creating a dynamic and continuous whole. Plazas for socializing, seating areas, and spaces for outdoor activities act as connecting elements between the sports facilities, promoting encounters and lingering.

The support infrastructure was designed to adequately serve the proposed activities, concentrating restrooms, changing rooms, a kitchen, and storage in a functional and easily accessible core. The parking lot for 82 vehicles, distributed functionally and safely, and the bicycle parking area, strategically positioned to encourage the use of sustainable means of transport, are integrated into the complex in an organized manner, ensuring fluidity, safety, and accessibility.

The project seeks to consolidate an inclusive and democratic public space, where architecture, materiality, and program come together to create an active, functional, and welcoming urban environment, strengthening the community’s connection with the built environment.
