AUTODESK VIEWER

Visualizing complex projects has always been one of the greatest challenges in architecture. Historically, communication between the designer and the client depended on interpretations of 2D plans or static physical models. With the rise of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) ecosystem, the need arose for a platform that not only displayed geometry but also allowed easy access to construction data.

Autodesk Viewer emerges as a cloud-based visualization technology based on Autodesk Platform Services. It allows highly complex models, generated in software such as Revit and Navisworks, to be explored with complete fluidity directly in web browsers, eliminating the barrier of heavy software or high-cost licenses for the end client.

Transparency and Real-Time Collaboration

At LDA, Autodesk Viewer is the centerpiece of our transparency policy. Through this technology, we deliver to the client the “Digital Twin” of their project. This is not just a 3D model for aesthetic visualization, but a collaborative environment where each component has linked properties and information.

The platform offers advanced tools that transform the review experience:
• Immersive Navigation: The client can virtually walk through the project in first person, ensuring a real understanding of scale and spatiality.
• Dynamic Sectioning: It is possible to “slice” the building on any axis (X, Y, Z), allowing visualization of the interior of slabs, the positioning of hydraulic pipes, hidden structural details, etc.
• Model Explosion: A technical functionality that allows separating the project components to understand how the assembly and systems integrate.
• Object Properties: By clicking on any element, such as a window frame or column, the Viewer displays the technical data entered by our team in Revit.

Integration with the BIM Workflow

Today we are integrating the Autodesk Viewer directly with BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud. This means that whenever our team updates a wall or changes a technical detail in the office, the link sent to the client reflects these changes in a synchronized manner.

This agility drastically reduces the approval cycle and minimizes misinterpretations on the construction site. The Viewer also allows the client to make annotations (markups) directly on the screen, sending precise feedback that is instantly viewed by our architects.
